Looking Back…

Looking back to earlier this year with this image from my shoot with the incredible (not an exaggeration) Stephanie Paige at he Graduate Hotel in Nashville. I love the look she has in this shot and I wanted to see how far I could push (edit) this image without “breaking” it, and then I pushed the edit a bit past that point anyway :). This is mostly natural window light with a small LED video light for fill.

Processed in Camera Raw and Photoshop.

(The effect here is created using the clarity and texture controls plus a dose of strategically masked overlaid blurred layer)

Steph and the Emerald Sofa

Just when you think I might be done, there’s more Stephanie Paige photos to post :). If you haven’t been to the Graduate Nashville, they have a set of risers in the lobby with three rows of three small sofas in a variety colors. This green one really grabs you with its deep color and intricate pattern. Try as it might though it really can’t distract from Stephanie and that lovely dress.
Light is the ambient from the large windows and interior lighting with a small LED video light to camera left as a “kicker”.

Outside at the Graduate

Stephanie Paige from our shoot at The Graduate Nashville. This shot was on the 2nd floor outdoor space. The main light is coming from the sun reflecting off of the windows across the space from us.

Raise a Glass

Time to raise a glass and give a huge thanks to Stephanie Paige as she has carried my social media posts for the past week. Both in the studio and on location at the Graduate Nashville she has been a total pro. Not only does she know how to work the camera, she handled her own hair, makeup, and wardrobe as well as suggesting we check out the Graduate for a shoot. Thanks for a great week of images, Stephanie!

Lighten Up :)

With the more serious tone of most of the images Stephanie and I created last weekend, I wanted to switch it up today. I love the simplicity of this shot (one light) and how that lovely smile makes everything else in this photo just fade into the background.

It’s Cold Outside

With the snow coming down overnight, it seems like the perfect time for a “Fake Fur Friday” post (which I’m just now making up). During our shoot at Graduate Nashville, Stephanie broke out this white fur coat for a few shots. I couldn’t really find a space I like for it until we came inside from the second floor terrace. Once inside I pulled the white curtains (behind the main ones) closed and we had instant “white out” from the bright sunlight outside.

The Graduate Nashville is quite the playground for models and photographers. I feel these gold sofas are a great place in which to place a stunning model like Stephanie Paige.
