On the Grid

The stunning Sophie Wester gracing the space in front of my lens at the City of Arts & Sciences. This location is a very popular place for photographers who want to capture the amazing architecture here. Me, I search for elements that get overlooked, like this grid gate to the gardens there. Of course, you can place Sophie pretty much anywhere, and she’ll shine, but I do like how this grid frames her in this image.

Spotlight on Sophie

During our shoot with Sophie at Arts & Sciences, we walked through this space where the sun was streaming through from a nearby stairway. This area is where cars and buses can drive through to drop off visitors and was in deep shadow. This created a wonderful “frame” to the sunlight where Sophie was walking. Her far-away stare and casual stance seem a stark contrast to how she is a beautiful, bright spot in an otherwise dark space.

Sophie in Red

I was thrilled to hear from Sophie recently that she would be visiting Valencia again. Not only for a chance to shoot with her again (you can see why!) but also to catch up with her as well as share a meal with her and her parents who were also visiting. Sophie in the Studio

Sun Worship with Sophie

The incredible beauty that is Sophie Wester working her talent in front of my lens in Portugal. Getting to meet Sophie during Nancy Schoenmakers‘ fashion workshop last year led to her visiting us in Valencia for several days. Time to Lean
