Returning to Santa Fe for today’s post with this image of Mecca from our “street shoot” back in 2020. Since Santa Fe’s downtown center area has only short buildings, there is a lot of opportunity to get some great light in early morning and evening. This shot looks “lit” but the light here is just reflecting the the side of a nearby building so no bounce or fill flash here (but it does look like it). Mecca of course makes it easy to get lovely images as she really knows how to work the camera. That’s true for both side of the camera as she is a great photographer herself. Annsley Wood looking lovely and ethereal in this image from our shoot at the end of last summer. The late afternoon sun was truly on our side this afternoon as it was setting behind her at camera left. A silver reflector was used at camera right to provide some fill and add that spark to Annsley’s eyes.

A lovely sunny afternoon with @Annsley.Wood at On Track Studios in Franklin. Carmen and I brought this chair out from our home (Carmen’s awesome idea!) and placed it initially under a large tree at the studio’s location. Once it got to be around 4:30 in the afternoon we discovered there was the spot where the setting sun (behind and to Annsley’s right) was reflecting off of the studio windows. The fill light coming from the windows, which are about 80 feet away, had a fantastic quality and it plainly shows in this shot. As a result, this image has very little post processing done as it simply doesn’t need it.

One of my favorite captures of Calli Carroll taken at her home in Ashland City. Calli always brings something special to any shoot but adding in the great outdoor scenery they have at there home and the images just create themselves. Thanks so much to Calli and her family for having us come out to their home to do this shoot!

Kate‘s back with another image from one of our recent sessions. This shot was captured on the front porch at On Track Studios in Franklin. This barn style building has some great character and works perfectly with the mood of this shot. Of course Kate brings her own magic here to make this one of my favorite shots from the day.
