Ruta and Daniel working their magic in front of my camera during last weekend’s workshop with @ashleyhylbert at White Ave Studios. This capture was made in front of the studio with the old pickup the studio has on hand. The faded blue of the truck created a great start for “split toning” this image creating an overall cross-processed, “not quite real” color palette. A bit of added vignette helps keep the focus on Ruta and Daniel’s faces which are totally matching the overall mood here.

I just can’t get enough of the shots of Caroline and Daniel we captured in Franklin last year so here’s another one. This was taken right in the square in downtown Franklin with later afternoon sun and a small video light as a fill (thank you Carmen).

Caroline and Daniel together in front of my lens in Franklin, TN. The dramatic late afternoon sun does a beautiful job of emphasizing the emotions on their faces here.

Salamanca offered some great scenes to capture for the street photographer. This couldn’t have been better if we’d planned it.
Love how the feelings these two have for each other come through in this image from our recent engagement shoot.
Reaching back into my film days with this shot of Karla end Erol. This was taken in an alley off of Second Ave in downtown Nashville in the 90’s using a Kiev 88 camera with a 150 2.8 lens. The scan isn’t great but I always liked this shot. I have to say I miss shooting square format and the Kiev88 was an interesting camera (and a little quirky). ⠀
Courtenay not only knows how to work the camera but also can charm complete strangers into participating in our shoot. This came from a shoot we did in East Nashville and the guy here was just hangin’ with his friends across the street. She felt we needed to include them in the shoot. She sure can had this guy pegged cause he was great in front of the camera.
