When I Do Shoot a Senior Session…
I don’t usually shoot senior photos, but when Calli asked me to shoot her senior photos session, I immediately said yes! Every time I get to shoot with Calli we end up with some great images. She’s lovely (as you can see) but she’s also a total pro in front of the camera. Thanks so much for reaching out to me capture these memories of your senior year!

Calli at Home
Calli’s back with another capture from our shoot out in Ashland City. In this shot we took advantage of the low sun using the siding of their house for the background.

Dreamy Spring Afternoon
First of many images I’ll be posting from my shoot with Calli Carroll this past weekend at her home in Ashland City. They have some beautiful property there and the dappling effect on the light coming through the trees (to camera right) helped create the dream-like environment in which Calli is walking. For those of you that follow Calli, you might have noticed she’s gone from blonde to brunette and it certainly works. Lot’s more to come from this shoot so keep an eye on this space.

Dreamy “window” Light
Take one part dreamy window light, some fantastic hair & makeup, and one part lovely model and you end up with this striking image of Calli Carroll from our shoot Wednesday evening. Scroll for the “how we did this” info.

To create this “window” light after the sun had already set I placed one of my strobes in a 24×34 softbox just outside the window at the studio. The light ended up getting extra softening by the studio curtains leaving creating this super smooth and even lighting. A second strobe (with barndoors) is set to camera right. Thanks to Vicki Carroll for the BTS image.

Calli Crushin’ It
Calli Carroll came by the studio this week to create images for our respective portfolios. We ended up with a perfect storm of great talent in front of the lens (Calli) and fantastic hair & makeup courtesy of Amanda Dowd. The shot below is just one of many keepers from our session so there’s more to come!
The BTS shot was provided by Calli’s mother Vicki Carroll and I am so glad she did as I often don’t think about BTS shots once I get rolling.
