Low-Key with Dustin
Dustin is perfectly matching the mood set in this example of a one-light portrait from my lighting workshop. This shot makes use of a single softbox to camera right. In order to keep a strong shadow from showing on the background, the box is turned to the left so the light is mostly directed to the left side of the frame (feathering). This reduces the effective output of the light but can create a nice quality of light and it also greatly reduced the potential for shadows when close to the backdrop.
