For the last, but certainly not least, Headshot of the Week! for April, 2018 is Wendy. Part of a group session from last week, Wendy’s great energy and smile made this capture and easy pick for HotW!. Perfect amount of smile and brilliant eyes in this image really gets the viewer engaged and that’s what a good headshot should do. It was great teaming up with Wendy to get this image and I couldn’t be happier with the final result. Great Job, Wendy!
Give it up for Laura F., this week’s Headshot of the Week! for April 23rd, 2018. Like many of the headshots I’ve posted in the past, Laura’s image comes from a group shoot where I had only a couple of minutes with each subject. Out of 10 shot, we had 4 that would have fit the bill for HotW! which is a pretty great ratio. Of course I didn’t do this alone as I consider my headshot work a team effort between me and my client. Great working with you, Laura!
I had a feeling Kelley was going to be a Headshot of the Week! before I even captured the first image with her. Kelley has amazing presence and strikingly bright eyes that just pull the viewer into the photo. Add in the great smile and how she landed here as Headshot of the Week! is pretty easy to understand. Way to go, Kelley!
Derek K. is this week’s Headshot of the Week! and it was an easy choice. Derek and his wife Stacey are friends that leave in Brentwood. During dinner last week we told Derek he should come over and get a new headshot over the weekend and he took us up on it. Derek is a great sport and between Stacey, Carmen, and I we had him change clothes three times during the shoot. Derek is a real trooper and we were able to capture what I feel is a great example of a professional headshot with a strong connection to the viewer and a friendly, but not over-the-top smile. Way to show us how it’s done, Derek!
Kicking off Headshot of the Week! for April 2018 is Hillary M. We may be one day after April First but Hillary’s headshot is no joke (yeah, I went there). She has great presence in front of the camera that leaps right out of the screen and she has this great smile that made this image an easy pick for HotW!. Way to go, Hillary!
Ruby R is running away with Headshot of the Week! for this last week of March, 2018. I often talk about the smile (which is great) and connection with the viewer (those eyes!) but you can’t look at Ruby’s image and not notice that hair! This was during a corporate group shot session and we got this image with no hair and/or makeup person on hand. She just stepped up and we got this in a couple of minutes of shooting. Ruby, all I can say is you make me look really good at my job!
March madness is upon us, but this madness has nothing to do with basketball. Headshot of the Week! is the kind of mania I’m talking about here and this headshot of Whitney turned out crazy-awesome. I did my part here in capturing it but Whitney is the reason this capture is a slam-dunk for HotW! this week (see what I did there??). Great job Whitney!
As the ides of March approach, there is no need to fear because Headshot of the Week! is about to appear. So yeah, I shouldn’t give up photography for poetry and this week’s HotW! clearly demonstrates this. For over a year Jennie and I have tried to get our schedules in sync so we could capture a new headshot for her and the result was worth the wait. Jennie brought her “A” game here with the lovely hair, engaging eyes, and great smile. Had a great time making this image with you, Jennie!
